Day 5 in Saigon and we have settled well into our rhythm of pool, sun, relax. We really are not eating much, no scrap that, let me try this again. We really didn’t have any food adventures planned because, aside from this being our first time here, we just didn’t know how and what to plan. Finding stuff on the inter weebs was hard so we decided to wing it. Plus, we are really here for R&R and we are doing that to the fullest.

Secret Garden was a recommendation from a friend of our masseuse, s/o to Robert for connecting us to Thuy. Anyway, we decided today was a good day to give it a go considering yesterday we were fully invested in our rhythm of pool, sun, relax, basically, we didn’t do jack shit! Popped the address into google maps and off we went. Y’all know how I feel about google mapping on holiday – the app be making my blood pressure rise and in 30-degree heat! Let’s just say having direction concerns is not a good look. Plus, Thuy forgot to mention that finding the restaurant is well…. a freaking secret!

The restaurant is in an apartment block which obviously confuses google maps😒plus you still have to go up at least 4 flight of stairs! Yep, it is a roof top restaurant so the open air space was welcomed. Liked the simple décor of wooden chairs and tables, as well as a canopy / sun roof. The menu was extensive and typical of us we decided to try a few dishes and they were pretty darn good.

Getting here was a mission, but so worth it! Thank you Thuy!

p.s For sundown shenanigans, we presented ourselves in our fave spot called the long bar in the time’s square hotel. We discovered happy hour on our first night. Happy hour runs for 3 hours – 4pm to 7pm! I must have tried all the cocktails on the menu and no I ain’t sorry😍🤣!
